Cameron Young is a Players Champion!

Young started Sunday at TPC Sawgrass 4 strokes behind then-leader Ludvig Aberg and put together a masterful 4-under Sunday to win one of the most coveted events on the PGA Tour.

While Aberg had a Sunday he will want to forget, Ludvig’s Ryder Cup teammate Matt Fitzpatrick made it a heavy race with Cam all Sunday long. The two were together in the penultimate pairing for peak drama, and it went absolutely peak after Cam birdied the iconic 17th to square the duo up at 13-under each.

It was then that the fireworks took over. Cam Young absolutely blasted his drive on 18. It was literally the longest drive on record at number 18 at TPC Sawgrass according to the PGA Tour. Young went 375 yards to give himself an easy look at par while Fitzpatrick wound up in trouble.

Young did indeed make par while Fitzpatrick could not save his. That was the end of it all and Cam Young walked off a winner.

How many times has Cam Young won in his career?

Sunday at Sawgrass marked only the second career victory for Cam Young. His first career win was just last year at the Wyndham Championship and now he has a coveted Players Championship to add to his growing total.

Young has now made 104 starts on the PGA Tour and is still well south of 30, as far as the “young” of things is concerned.

He absolutely earned it on Sunday at the biggest event of the season. Well done, Cam Young!
