This year’s Masters Tournament will officially not feature Phil Mickelson.

Phil announced the news himself on Thursday. He took to social media to share that he will be out an extended period of time as his family continues to navigate a personal health matter.

It goes without saying that we are all wishing Phil and his family the best. He is one of the most decorated professional golfers the world has ever known, and his successes at Augusta speak for themselves.

Mickelson noted that the Masters is the most special week of the year and that he has great respect for Augusta National Golf Club in his post before wishing everyone the best.

We are all certainly wishing that for him and his family, too.
