Blades Brown has made his choice.

The 19-year old has been one of the bigger stories in the world of golf as of late, and recently his solid play put him in a position where he had to make a decision. Brown qualified for Special Temporary Membership on the PGA Tour which meant that he would be eligible to receive unlimited sponsorship exemptions through the remainder of this season, but as a member of the Korn Ferry Tour he also has a path to securing his PGA Tour card for next season through his play there. Many wondered what he was going to focus on.

Essentially Brown has now created an additional opportunity for himself to earn Tour membership in 2027. If he plays well on the PGA Tour, assuming he receives the necessary exemptions obviously, he can secure it that way. Should that plan not go well then he has his status on the Korn Ferry Tour, presuming he keeps that up with solid play in those events, as an alternative plan. It requires some delicate balancing, but it appears that Brown is ready.

For what it’s worth it was Brown’s T14 at the CJ CUP that gave him enough non-member FedExCup points to be eligible for this particular special membership.

We will see how he does across the rest of this season, in both tours!
