The final session of the 2010 Ryder Cup (singles play) is underway in Wales, and it will take a big day from the Americans if they are going to pull off the Brookline-like comeback.
As it stands right now (about 9 a.m. ET), Europe leads overall, 12-9, and are currently up in three, with the U.S. up in four.
Stever Stricker defeated Lee Westwood in the first match of the day.
The U.S. needs to hang on in the four matches they are currently leading (Jeff Overton, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Zach Johnson), and turn around one of the three matches in which they are trailing (Hunter Mahan vs. Graeme McDowell is the best shot for that). It would be the second-largest Ryder Cup comeback.
The Ryder Cup is airing live on the USA Network (that’s right it is! U-S-A!), but if you’re stuck at work, it’s also being streamed on RyderCup.com.
