Jim Furyk Named PGA Tour Player Of The Year

After a quietly successful 2010 season, Jim Furyk beat out Matt Kuchar and Steve Stricker for the title of PGA Player of the Year.

Jim Furyk was crowned PGA Player of the Year on Monday for a quietly successful 2010 season. Furyk led the PGA Tour with three wins, including the a victory at the Tour Championship which elevated him over Matt Kuchar to win the FedEx Cup championship.

Kuchar, who was on top of the money list at the end of the 2010 season, finished second in the Player of the Year points list. Furyk and Kuchar each received five-year PGA Tour exemptions.

Steve Stricker, who had two wins and nine top ten finishes this year, finished in third. Ernie Els finished in fourth, while Masters champion Phil Mickelson rounded out the top five.
