There’s been some hullabaloo over the 2011 President’s Cup, centered around a noted golf enthusiast in Tiger Woods and prominant golfer Michael Jordan. Woods, and this could surprise you, is participating while Jordan, originally slated to serve as assistant captain to captain Fred Couples, will not.
Presidents Cup 2011 Rules And Format
The format of the tournament will proceed as follows: on Thursday and Friday, each of the 12 players on the U.S. team will pair up to face a pair on the world side. Thursday’s matches will be foursome play — also known as alternate shot — while Friday’s will be four ball — also known as best ball.
On Saturday, Couples will decide which two golfers won’t match up against the international captain Greg Norman’s 10 best guys. Sunday, all 24 players will face off in head-to-head play.
