The 2011 Presidents Cup gets underway on Thursday in Australia -- late night on Wednesday in the United States -- with the opening foursome matchups. The first set of matches will be of the alternate shot variety, with six pairs from each side facing off against each other at Royal Melbourne Golf Club.

Coverage of the event begins at 9 p.m. EST on the Golf Channel, making for a late night for those who plan to watch the action live. Coverage is scheduled to run until 2 a.m., or through the conclusion of the final match of the day -- Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker vs. Adam Scott and K.J. Choi.
