The USA split the Sunday singles matches at the 2011 Presidents Cup, clinching the overall win, 19-15. A strong showing prior to Sunday’s matches set the USA up for success, with only four wins needed to take the cup again. And the US team took care of its business on Sunday, thanks to dominating wins by its anchors.

The International side swept the opening matches, winning each of the first four of the day. But the back-end of the USA pairings were the strength, with all four winning easily to secure the cup. Tiger Woods clinched the win, sinking a putt for a 4&3 victory over Aaron Baddely. Steve Stricker, David Toms, Nick Watney and Hunter Mahan also won for the American side.
On the International team, K.T. Kim, Charl Schwartzel, Ryo Ishikawa, Geoff Ogilvy, Adam Scott and Retief Goosen were all winners on Sunday. But it was too little, too late as the USA took a 13-9 lead into the day and set itself up in a perfect position to win the cup.
