Martin Kaymer has held the No. 1 world golf ranking since January, when he knocked off Lee Westwood by finishing second at the WGC-Accenture Match Play. But it could be a short reign. Two British golfers have a shot at unseating Kaymer this weekend, according to Ryan Ballengee at Pro Golf Talk.
Luke Donald Or Lee Westwood Could Take Martin Kaymer’s No. 1 Ranking This Weekend
↵Luke Donald could hit No. 1 for the first time with a win at The Heritage in Hilton Head, S.C., because the field is so strong. If Donald, ranked third in the world, doesn’t win, then No. 2 Westwood could reclaim the top ranking with a victory at the Indonesian Masters this weekend.
↵If neither takes home a trophy on Sunday, then Kaymer (below) will keep the No. 1 ranking while practicing at Wentworth Club in Surrey, England, for the BMW PGA Championship next month.
