The weather has finally improved enough for golfers to take to the course again at TPC Sawgrass, and Martin Kaymer certainly doesn’t seem to have accumulated any rust. The German has now moved into a tie for second on the Players Championship leaderboard.
Players Championship 2011 Leaderboard: Martin Kaymer Birdies First Four Holes To Tie For Second
Kaymer has birdied each of his first four holes to move 15 spots upward. He now stands within a stroke of leader David Toms, who is due to tee off at 7 p.m. ET. It should be noted that over the first two rounds, Kaymer has been more effective in the front nine than the back nine.
Due to the delayed schedule, Kaymer isn’t likely to finish his round Saturday. Like much of the field, he’ll have to hit the course early Sunday and finish Round 3 before beginning Round 4.
