Wells Fargo Championship Leaderboard Update: Rory Sabbatini Breaks Into Top 10
The South African scored a great front nine, with birdies on the second, third, fifth, eighth, and ninth holes. He stumbled a bit with back-to-back bogeys on the 11th and 12th, but recovered nicely with an eagle on the 16th hole. Sabbatini is now 7-under for the tournament, five strokes behind leader Pat Perez, who tees off at 3:15 p.m. ET.
Elsewhere, Mahan is making serious headway. He’s 5-under through the front nine, having answered a lone bogey with six birdies.
Sabbatini, age 35, is looking for the seventh PGA Tour win of his career. The 28-year-old Mahan is on the hunt for his fourth.
