The 2011 BMW Championship will begin Round 2 on Friday at the Cog Hill Golf and Country Club in Lemont, Illinois with tee times slated to begin at 10:20 a.m. local time. The most appealing group, at least as far as the first-round standings are concerned, will begin on the front nine when Justin Rose, Jim Furyk and Zach Johnson begin their day at the first tee.
BMW Championship 2011, Round 2 Tee Times: Leader Justin Rose Starts On Front Nine
Rose finished Thursday’s first round with an eight-under 63, putting him two strokes ahead of the rest of the pack despite a bogey on Hole 13 while Furyk finished in a tie for fifth at three-under with Johnson ending up in eighth after shooting a two-under 69 in the first round.
A full listing of all of the second-round tee times can be found on the PGA Tour’s official website. If SB Nation golf blog Waggle Room is correct, those tee times might be some of the last at Cog Hill for PGA Tour professionals.
Cog Hill Golf & Country Club is a public course, and the Midwestern weather hasn’t exactly been the greatest over the past few summers. However, the main problem seems to lie in the rennovations that took place in 2008. Grass will always grow back (as it has this season); golf tees and hole layouts cannot change overnight, unfortunately.
What is even more unfortunate is that many punduits are suggesting that Cog Hill will “need a miracle” to ever host another TOUR event, especially one the likes of the BMW Championship.
