The FedEx Cup standings are becoming very important this weekend as only the top 30 golfers following the BMW Championship will advance to the PGA Tour’s final event of the season. Barring an epic collapse, current projections show that Justin Rose will be included in the Top 30 after starting in 34th place prior to the BMW Championship.
Fedex Cup Standings: Webb Simpson Leads, But Justin Rose Climbing
Webb Simpson is still atop the FedEx Cup leaderboard, but projections show that Justin Rose’s performance in the BMW Championship could move him into the mix.

Rose has jumped from No. 34 to No. 3 in the FedEx Cup projections, provided on the PGA Tour’s website, with only Webb Simpson and Dustin Johnson currently ahead of him in the standings. If the current BMW Championship leaderboard holds up, with one round to play, Rose will finish first, Webb fifth and Johnson a disappointing 62nd.
Rounding out the FedEx Cup standings’ top five is Matt Kuchar and Luke Donald. The latter has actually dropped in the current projections, due to Rose’s rise, but he’s currently in seventh at the BMW Championship.
Jason Dufner, Martin Laird and Y.E. Yang will need to hold off Bo Van Pelt, Aaron Baddeley and Charl Schwartzel to keep themselves in the top 30 and alive for the final PGA Tour event of the season.
