Professional golfer Steve Thomas was among 40 men arrested during an undercover sting in Osceola County, Florida for allegedly traveling to meet minors for sex.

Using a tactic familiar to anyone who ever watched To Catch A Predator, undercover detectives posed as children, or as parents or guardians, to chat online with the suspects, who traveled to an arranged meeting location in Osceola County.

According to the arrest affidavit, Thomas thought he was chatting with a woman about sex with her 13-year-old daughter. He agreed to meet the teen for sex. Found in his car following the arrest were three condoms, two packages of chocolate pudding and a bottle of honey.

Thomas has played in 44 PGA tournaments finishing in the Top 25 twice and the Top 10 once. He also competed in 4 Champions Tour events, finishing in the Top 10 twice. His winnings stand at just over $25,000.

The 55-year-old turned pro in 1980 and resides in Tupelo, Mississippi.
