Second round play for the 2012 Frys.com Open at CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin, Calif., is now complete, and the leader after two rounds of play is John Mallinger.

Mallinger also had the best round on Friday as he shot 9-under par, and that second round score boosted him to the top of the leaderboard. He is now 14-under par for tournament and leads by four strokes. In Mallinger’s second round he went bogey-free, converted seven birdies and he even managed to hit an eagle on the 15th hole.

After the top spot, the leaderboard is pretty crowded as there are 13 other golfers who are at least at 7-under par. Billy Horschel and Jhonattan Vegas, both are at 10-under par, are in a tie for second.

Horschel shot a 6-under round of 65, and he had seven birdies and just one bogey during Friday’s round. As for Vegas, his second round was all over the place as he had seven birdies and three bogies, but he still managed to shoot a 4-under round of 67.
