Tommy Gainey rode a final round 60 to victory in the 2012 McGladrey Classic, netting him $720,000.

By shooting a 10-under 60 to surge into the lead, Gainey saw his purse increase by nearly $700,000. With the win, Gainey also nearly doubled his earnings for the entire 2012 season. He earned $804,703 during the first 30 events he played in in 2012.
Gainey wasn’t the only player to significantly increase his purse with a strong final round. David Toms began the day in 11th place, projected to earn $92,000, but finished second with a 7-under 63 on Sunday. With the second place finish, Toms won $432,000. Jimy Furyk began the final round with the lead, but finished third, earning him $272,000.
While a few players made money with strong final rounds, Gavin Coles went the opposite direction. Coles began Sunday in a tie for 11th place and projected to win $92,000. He fell to a tie for 51st place after shooting a 4-over 74 and ended up winning $9,413.
