Bunker Rake: Luke trumps Tiger, Jimenez is the coolest

Thanksgiving is a mere three days away, so you can all be thankful for the second installment of the Bunker Rake; my weekly offering to SB Nation’s golf community. If that wasn’t exciting enough, we can all be forever thankful for what Luke Donald and Miguel Angel Jimenez accomplished over the weekend. Let’s take a look.

- Luuuuuuke! With his victory in Japan over the weekend, Donald became the new world No. 2 in golf, surpassing Tiger Woods for the first time since The Memorial earlier this season. Is there a player who is receives less respect than Luke Donald? The man is quite possibly the nicest guy on any tour, is (usually) pretty soft spoken, and was the best player in the world for 55 weeks. The only glaring omission on his resume to date is the lack of a major championship, but the Englishman is sure to remedy that in no time. He might not be the flashiest guy in the game, but you will be hard-pressed to find a more consistent player over the past five years.

- Miguel Angel Jimenez is my hero. The Most Interesting Man in Golf won a golf tournament this weekend, and all suddenly become right in the world. By winning his third Hong Kong Open title at the young age of 48 and some 300-odd days, he also became the oldest champion in European Tour history. But that’s not even his most impressive contribution to the game. Let us all bask in the glory of the Jimenez Pregame Workout!

If that doesn’t make you want to immediately start smoking cigars and drinking fine wines, there is no hope for you.

- Adam Scott cheats his way to another victory in Australia. Ok, so he just used a long putter to beat runner-up Ian Poulter by four strokes, but Adam Scott is still a damned dirty cheater! I have absolutely no proof that a long putter provides an advantage to any golfer (although apparently USGA chairman Mike Davis does), especially a golfer who used the same long putter to choke away the British Open, but Adam Scott is a criminal! Or something.
