World No. 1 Rory McIlroy and No. 2 Luke Donald are tied for the lead after three rounds in Dubai, prepping golf fans for a memorable final round Sunday afternoon.

The top two players in the world, Rory McIlroy and Luke Donald, are neck and neck in Dubai. Will their final round be one to remember on Sunday?

Both players fired a six-under par 66 in their third round at the DP World Tour Championship, the final tournament of the 2012 European Tour schedule. Both players are three-shots clear of the field and will be in the event’s final pairing once play resumes and will compete for the winner’s share of a $1.33 million purse.
McIlroy turned up his game on his back nine after an average start to his third round.
“I’ve done a majority of my scoring this week on the back nine and that’s the way it went today,” McIlroy said. “Took me a few holes to adjust. But once I got comfortable, I started to hit some good shots and give myself opportunities for birdies.”
Donald had his third consecutive bogey-free round of the tournament, proving his place in the Official World Golf Rankings is no joke.
“I was, again, just trying to play solid golf, minimize mistakes,” said Donald.. “I guess it’s a testament to how I play the game. I kind of keep the ball in front of me and, when I get in trouble, I’ve got a good short game to bail myself out.”
