The 2012 PGA Tour qualifying tournament continued with the second round on Thursday and the players are closely bunched at the top of the leaderboard as they attempt to earn a PGA Tour card.

Meen Whee Kim shot a 9-under 63 in the second round to move into the lead. Whee Kim is now 13-under for the tournament, one stroke ahead of Vaughn Taylor who is in second place. Like Whee Kim, Taylor started the second round in a tie for 20th place, but he shot up the standings with a round of 64 on Thursday.

Behind Whee Kim and Taylor, the top of the leaderboard is crowded as 58 players are at 5-under or better. The top 25 players will earn PGA Tour cards for the upcoming season. There are a few notable names in the group currently in contention including Heath Slocum and Camilo Villegas. Slocum is tied for 14th place at 8-under while Villegas jumped from 50th place into a tie for 23rd at 7-under.

While a few players have put themselves in good position, a lot could change. PGA Tour Q-school is a six-round tournament so the players still have 72 holes to play.
