Lee Westwood and Louis Oosthuizen are tied atop the WGC-HSBC Champions leaderboard after three rounds of play. Westwood stormed back to put his name in the conversation of candidates to win the tournament by shooting an 11-under 61 early on Saturday at Mission Hills Golf Course in Guangdong, China.
WGC-HSBC Champions 2012: Lee Westwood, Louis Oosthuizen tied for lead after 3 rounds
Lee Westwood used a big third round to climb into a tie atop the WGC-HSBC Champions leaderboard alongside Louis Oosthuizen, whose ordinary day kept him from maintaining sole possession of the lead.

Westwood knocked down 11 birdies en route to his score of 61, which surprisingly wasn’t even the best score of the round. Brandt Snedeker’s 12-under 60 took that distinction. Still, Snedeker’s great day leaves him at five shots back of the lead, while Westwood is firmly in the mix at the top.
Phil Mickelson sits behind the leaders at 15-under for the tournament, while the trio of Ian Poulter, Bill Haas and Ernie Els round out the top five at 14-under. Mickelson will be part of the final grouping, joining Westwood and Oosthuizen. They’ll tee off at 10:25 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
