Children’s Miracle Network Classic 2012: Charlie Wi leads after first round

Examining the leaderboard after the first round of the Children’s Miracle Network Classic.

Charlie Wi holds a one-stroke lead following the first round of the 2012 Children’s Miracle Network Classic. Wi had a big day at Magnolia Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, converting on 10 birdies and just two bogeys for an overall score of 8-under.

Wi’s one-stroke lead is over Camilo Villegas and Tommy Gainey. Both players hit the ball well on Thursday afternoon on their way to 7-under par. Villegas was stuck in the middle of the pack for most of the day, but four birdies on his final six holes propelled him toward the top.

Brian Harman, Scott Stallings and Russell Knox are all currently tied for fourth place at 6-under. Ken Duke is one of six golfers currently tied for seventh place at 5-under par. The full leaderboard can be found here.

The second round of the 2012 Children’s Miracle Network Classic is set to tee off on Friday morning.
