Modified alternate shot appears to suit Davis Love III and Brandt Snedeker well. The pair took advantage of the first round format at the Franklin Templeton Shootout to shoot 10-under and take a two stroke lead heading into the weekend of the three-round tournament.
2012 Franklin Templeton Shootout scores: Love III and Snedeker lead after 1st round
Davis Love III and Brandt Snedeker are two shots clear of the field after the first round of the Franklin Templeton Shootout.

The Tiburon course in Naples, Florida was open to low scoring on Friday, with 11 of the 12 pairing firing under par scores. Sean O’Hair and Kenny Perry are in second place to eight-under, in front of a trio of pairings in third place at six-under.
Right behind the groups in third place are Keegan Bradley and Brendan Steele, the tournament’s defending champions. The pair took home the Franklin Templeton Shootout last year with absurd 32-under performance, a score they probably won’t come near after shooting five-under in the opening round.
Saturday’s second round will see the tournament go to a better ball format. The tournament comes to a close on Sunday, which will be scramble.
