Arnold Palmer was reportedly taken to the hospital with high blood pressure Sunday, according to Jason Sobel of the Golf Channel. Palmer is normally ready on the final green at the 2012 Arnold Palmer Invitational to give the winner a customary handshake and a hug. His absence as Tiger Woods won his first PGA Tour event since 2009 created some confusion.

Few details are known at this point. The 82-year-old golf legend hasn’t had many health problems over the years, at least none that have been made privy to the public. Palmer has dedicated his much of his spare time to public health and wellness, starting the Arnold Palmer Medical Center Foundation which helped open and maintain the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies in Florida.
