Valero Texas Open 2012: Ben Curtis Holds On For First Win Since 2006

2003 British Open champion Ben Curtis had toiled without a win on the PGA Tour since 2006, but held on against Matt Every and John Huh on the back nine to win the 2012 Valero Texas Open on Sunday.

Curtis shot a steady, even-par 72 to finish at 9-under for the tournament, and made a birdie on the 18th hole when he only needed to two-putt to win. The win is his first on the PGA Tour since the 2006 84 Lumber Classic.

Every (1-under 71, 7-under for the tournament) made his charge on the front nine, birdieing four of five holes to get to 9-under at the turn, then falling back with two bogeys on the back nine, while Huh got to his final 7-under total with three birdies on the first five holes of the back nine, then failed to record another red number.
