FedEx Cup Standings 2012: Ben Curtis’ Win Vaults Him Into Top 30

For Ben Curtis, winning at the 2012 Valero Texas Open wasn’t just his first PGA Tour triumph since 2006: it’s the sort of win that could actually get him into contention for the tour’s FedEx Cup.

With the victory, Curtis roared into the top 30 of the 2012 FedEx Cup standings, vaulting 172 spots from No. 200 to No. 28. And he wasn’t the only golfer getting a big boost.

Matt Every, who tied for second place behind Curtis and is tied for the PGA Tour lead in top-10 finishes with four, also soared, moving up from No. 61 to No. 24. And John Huh, who shared second with Every, rose from No. 22 to No. 14.

The top 13 in the rankings were unchanged. Hunter Mahan, the only player with two PGA Tour wins in 2012, remains at No. 1.
