Tiger Woods Basically Playing For Money And Pride On Masters Sunday

Because of his spectacular performance at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, Tiger Woods entered the 2012 Masters as one of the big favorites. Stars and dark horses like Phil Mickelson, Lee Westwood, Bubba Watson and Hunter Mahan have all risen to the occasion and enter Sunday with a chance to pull on the Green Jacket, but Tiger Woods is in a different situation.

Tiger had a respectable round of 72 on Saturday, scoring even par for the round and making pars on every hole on the back nine. Unfortunately, that wasn’t nearly good enough to get Woods into contention. He is 3-over par for the tournament, 12 strokes behind leader Peter Hanson. He is, for all intents and purposes, out of the running for the Masters title.

Tiger’s Sunday is going to be all about momentum, pride, and cash. Even though he’s not nearly as wealthy as he was a couple years ago, the difference between barely making the cut and a top-10 is nothing financially for Woods, meaning this round is actually just going to be about building momentum for future tournaments and the U.S. Open.

Just have fun out there, buddy!
