Masters Odds: Phil Mickelson The Favorite, Lee Westwood Good Value

Phil Mickelson is the odds on favorite to win the 2012 Masters as of Sunday morning, even though Peter Hanson leads him by one stroke. This probably has something to do with the fact that this is Hanson’s first made cut at Augusta, while Lefty has three Green Jackets to his name. While they might be the two favorites to win, neither is really worth laying money on if you’re a betting person.

Lee Westwood is arguably the best player in the world to never win a major, and he comes up just short over and over again in the big tournaments. He’s a terrific player, however, and it seems a bit ridiculous that his odds are so long. Watson and Oosthuizen are solid bets as well, considering that their positions are not shocking (unlike Hanson and Matt Kuchar), and they’ll pay out much bigger than Mickelson if they win.
