Masters Leaderboard: Tiger Woods 1-Under Through 5 Holes

It’s Easter Sunday at Augusta National, and while there’s still a couple hours before the leaders tee off, there are plenty of superstars out on the course early. Tiger Woods, who’s had an unremarkable three rounds, is capable of putting up a low number with little pressure and nothing on the line. He’s never done well chasing the leaders, but his 62 at the Honda Classic last month put some heat on leader Rory McIlroy.

A low number like that could put him on the first page of the leaderboard, but that’s likely about as close he’ll get to the leaders. He’ll need to pick it up if he wants to make any kind of noise, as he’s just one-under through the first four holes. He picked up a birdie on the second hole, but had a par on the easier and shorter No. 3 hole.

McIlroy, who had an astonishingly disappointing third round, is already out on the course and bogeyed the first hole. That puts him at 5-over on that one hole this week. McIlroy went out in 42 on Saturday, which all but ended his 2012 Masters hopes. He began Sunday ten shots back and while the uber-talented 22 year-old is capable of putting up a low number, the early bogey will make it almost impossible to catch the leaders, unless they drastically come back to the field.

Past Masters champion Zach Johnson is 2-under through the first six holes, but no one else in the morning wave has made much noise.
