2012 Masters Payouts: Winner Takes Home $1.44 Million

Edit: Bubba Watson is the winner. Here is the unofficial Masters payout list.

The 2012 Masters is drawing to a close, and someone -- Bubba Watson or Louis Oosthuizen -- stands to make a ton of money for four days work. The Masters will pay out a monster purse again this year, with the winner earning over $1 million and the second-place finisher earning just under that amount. The top-7 players will take home more than $250,000, as well.

From Augusta.com, here’s a sample of the prize money:

1st/$1,440,000
2nd/$864,000
3rd/$544,000
4th/$384,000
5th/$320,000

Additionally, if there are ties -- and there will be ties -- the prize money will be added up and then split between the players. For example, if two players tie for second, the second- and third-place money will be combined, then divided by two.

With Bubba Watson and Louis Oosthuizen both two shots clear of the field and tied atop the leaderboard, it’s clear one of these two men will instantly add seven figures to their bank account, along with the coveted green jacket that comes with a Masters win.

Edit: Watson and Oosthuizen are heading to a sudden-death playoff.
