2012 Masters: Bubba Watson Gets His Green Jacket

There’s a lot of “tradition unlike any other” moments at Augusta, and one of them is the famous green jacket ceremony. After Bubba Watson was the man in all-white all week long, Watson got his opportunity to put on something green after defeating Louis Oosthuizen in a two-hole playoff.

“I never got so far in my dreams,” Watson said.

Watson seemed pretty genuinely confused by the entire experience, including how he hooked a shot onto the green from the mulch on the concluding hole to seal a win.

“Somehow it got into a playoff,” Watson said. “I don’t know the rest, I just know I was crying a little bit later.”

The 33-year-old became emotional when asked about his one-month old son Caleb, who he and his wife Angie adopted last week, making him a parent for the first time.

However, when he finally got the jacket, he left Masters chairman Billy Payne hanging:

Payne played it off nicely with the nose-scratch there.

Last year’s winner Charl Schwartzel didn’t really have a shot at the title, finishing 8-over, but had to hang around to present Watson with his green jacket.

Patrick Cantlay from UCLA was also at the the presentation after being the tournament’s low scorer amongst amateurs, finishing at 7-over.
