I’m assuming Harris English feels your pain. English had been playing well at The Players Championship this week. In fact, he played himself into one of the final groups on Saturday at TPC Sawgrass. This would normally be a good thing.
But then he stepped to the first tee and drilled a volunteer with his tee shot. Right on top of the head.
OK, so this looks bad. It looks really bad, in fact. But, before you watch the man get knocked out and fall onto a rope, know that he was fine. The NBC cameras showed him smiling and joking around after being checked out.
Notice the look on his face and how it changes. Contrast that with the announcers saying the drive is straight but needs to get down ... right as it nails the man.
I’m not sure what the odds of this are, but ... damn. What a way to start. Harris made a bogey on one, a triple-bogey on two and a double-bogey on five and is 5-over for the day. He’s now a whopping 10 shots off the pace.
