The second round of of the Crowne Plaza Invitational begins early Friday morning with plenty of low numbers there for the taking at Colonial. Pros love the annual stop at the venerable Fort Worth, Texas, course, as it presents a PGA Tour-level challenge that’s also a fair test with plenty of birdie opportunities. Zach Johnson shot a 30 during his first nine holes on Thursday, and that kind of number is replicable with the greens receptive so far this week.

Jason Dufner is just one shot back of Johnson and is looking for not only back-to-back wins, but his third in a month. The hottest player in the world will go out early at 7:43 a.m. Central Daylight Time (CDT) with superstar playing partners Rickie Fowler and Matt Kuchar -- a group that features the winners of the last four tournaments. Dufner shot a 65 on Thursday, but had to deal with windy conditions. After the round, he intimated that there will be plenty more birdies if the wind stays down during his early morning time.
Golf Channel will provide the broadcast from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern time. The coverage will undoubtedly focus on first-round leader Johnson, who tees off at 12:18 p.m. CDT with defending champion David Toms and Sergio Garcia, who is just two shots back and tied for third.
