When the three most recent reigning major champions (Keegan Bradley, Bubba Watson, and Webb Simpson) tee it up together Thursday and Friday at TPC River Highlands, Simpson may have a surprise for Bradley’s caddie. Indeed, Steve “Pepsi” Hale may not want to turn his back on the newly crowned U.S. Open champ.
Webb Simpson May Have A Surprise For Keegan Bradley’s Caddie
Keegan Bradley’s caddie plays a gag on Webb Simpson -- but the new U.S. Open winner may have the last laugh.

It seems that Hale played a practical joke on Simpson -- and you know what they say about payback.
While congratulating Simpson on his win Sunday night, Hale revived an old joke that Paul Azinger and Payne Stewart used to play on each other to commemorate their PGA Tour victories. Hale slipped banana slices into the winner’s running shoes as Simpson’s caddie, Paul Tesori, pretended not to notice.
Tesori must have spilled the beans, because Simpson served notice on Hale.
“I think it was [Bradley’s] caddie, Pepsi, who put bananas in my shoes Sunday, and it was a brand new pair of shoes,” Simpson told reporters on Wednesday, ahead of this week’s tour event in Cromwell, Conn. “And I washed them and the smell is still in there. So I’m going to get him back with something.
“I don’t know what I’m going to do,” Simpson warned, “but I’m going to get him back.”
