David Mathis Records Ace At Travelers Championship

Talk about getting off to a hot start in a golf tournament.

Current tournament leader David Mathis started his first round at the Travelers Championship on the back-nine at the TPC River Highlands. On his second hole of the day -- hole No. 11 on the course, for those keeping score at home -- Mathis stepped up and recorded a hole-in-one at the 158-yard par-3.

After recording a birdie on his opening hole (No. 10 on TPC River Highlands) and an ace on his next hole, Mathis would continue his hot streak to reach 6-under par. As of this writing, Mathis is playing No. 14 and a his one-shot lead over Will Claxton and Nathan Green, both of whom are at 5-under.
