Early into Friday’s second round of the AT&T National at Congressional Country Club, it appeared that the extra putting practice Tiger Woods put in after shooting a lackluster 72 on Thursday was paying off.

After reaching the par-5 16th green in two from 240 yards out, Woods rolled in a 50-foot eagle putt to get to 2-under for the day.
Woods, who started the day at 1-over, five back of 18-hole leader Bo Van Pelt, was on the practice green as the sun went down on Thursday, trying to better his stroke with the flat stick. He needed just 29 putts in his opening round, but hitting only half his fairways put him at a disadvantage.
Even so, it was the practice green where Woods parked himself into the evening hours on Thursday. He looked up a few times to talk with his swing coach, Sean Foley, according to PGATour.com, but other than that it was all business for Woods and his putter. A two-putt from 42 feet on the par-4 11th and the bomb on 16 were indications that it was time well spent.
