With Brandt Snedeker on an absolute tear in his second round at Royal Lytham, the oddsmakers have upped his chances of winning the British Open. At 6-under par through 13 holes on Friday, the American who started the day two shots back of Adam Scott and is now 10-under has moved up to 6-1 odds to lift the Claret Jug on Sunday, according to Ladbrokes.

While Tiger Woods -- who ended his first round at 3-under and just three strokes back of 18-hole leader Scott -- remains the favorite at 5-1, Snedeker’s incredible start to his fourth Open Championship boosted his odds from 150-1 when the week began.
Whether Snedeker -- who is flawless through 30 holes and who would shoot a 64 should he par his way in -- is able to keep up his torrid pace as the weather worsens, one thing seems certain: He seems a shoo-in to make his first cut in the Brits’ national tourney.
