Hyundai Tournament of Champions 2013 purse: Dustin Johnson takes home $1.1 million

Hyundai Tournament of Champions winner Dustin Johnson will take home more than $1.1 million.

Dustin Johnson took home the victory at the 2013 Hyundai Tournament of Champions on Tuesday, and he also took home the $1.12 million purse given to the winner. That was a chunk of the $5.7 million total earnings given out during the tournament in Kapalua, Hawaii.

Johnson shot 16-under for the tournament and with his 5-under 68 in the tournament’s third round, he easily held off runner-up and last year’s Hyundai Tournament winner, Steve Stricker. Fellow American Brandt Snedeker came in third place with a 10-under finish, while Bubba Watson and Keegan Bradley tied for fourth place at 9-under.

Because of inclement weather, the tournament was shortened to a minimum 54 holes to remain official.

Johnson has been the winner of the past three tournaments that were capped at 54 holes. Despite reported winds of 30 miles per hour, Johnson’s power helped him claim victory at a course that was already a favorite to the big hitters. The Plantation Course at Kapalua is a par-73, 7,411-yard course.
