Rory McIlroy has been hanging out with the A-listers of late.
Rory McIlroy rubs elbows with Bono, Bill Clinton
Rory McIlroy enjoys his offseason.

The former world No. 1, whose precipitous tumble from golf’s top perch down to his current sixth-place ranking has been well-chronicled, took a pass on the wedding of his (former?) mate, Graeme McDowell, to kick it with Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney.
More recently, the two-time major champion who ditched McDowell’s management firm to form his own and set himself up for what could be a lengthy court case, took time out from his offseason to chat with Bono and everybody’s favorite ex-president, Bill Clinton, at a fundraiser in Dublin.

McIlroy, whom McDowell once tipped as “the next Tiger Woods,” cited business obligations as his reason for missing his Northern Irish countryman’s nuptials.
“Rory was in the U.K. to do a photo shoot for one of his sponsors, Nike,” a McIlroy spokesperson reportedly told the Herald, which mentioned that the golfer’s absence had raised eyebrows in certain circles. “Wayne Rooney is another Nike athlete and they did the shoot together.”
There was a time when the young Ulsterman’s future was so bright he had to wear shades, but in the meantime, looks like Bono wants his back, Rory.
