According to Bovada, the Americans come into the weekend favored by -350 to win the event, while the Internationals are getting the underdog price of +250. In terms of sheer point totals, the US is a -350 favorite as well, though the Internationals are a bigger payout at +275. The odds of a point tie are listed at +1,400.
The US lineup is loaded with 12 players who each finished in the top 30 of the FedEx Cup standings. Highlighting that group is Tiger Woods, who, despite his struggles in the playoffs, is the odds-on favorite to be the team’s top player at 9/2.
Just behind him are Phil Mickelson and Steve Stricker at 7/1 odds. As the only player in history to compete in all ten Presidents Cups, Mickelson’s experience should give him a significant advantage in the tournament.
It’s been ten years since the Internationals even grabbed a share of the Presidents Cup trophy, and Adam Scott is the key in any potential upset. The Australian is the favorite to lead his team, coming in at 7/2 odds. Fellow Aussie Jason Day and South African Charl Schwartzel are behind him at 11/2.
