Jordan Spieth, the PGA Tour’s 2013 Rookie of the Year, will take the place of Brandt Snedeker in Tiger Woods’ Northwestern Mutual World Challenge next month.

Spieth will take his place among a select group of PGA Tour pros when he steps in for Snedeker at the World Challenge hosted by Tiger Woods.

— Jordan Spieth (@JordanSpieth) November 20, 2013 Spieth, 20, began the year without his tour card, won the John Deere Classic in July to earn playing privileges, and will cap his stellar season vying with Woods and 17 other elite golfers in the annual exhibition at Sherwood Country Club. In addition to his inaugural victory, Spieth posted three second-place and six other top-10 finishes in 2013 and went 2-2-0 in his Presidents Cup debut in October.
The former University of Texas golfer will fill in for Snedeker, who hurt his left knee earlier this month when he fell off a Segway scooter during a corporate event in China.
Snedeker, the ninth-ranked player in the world, is reportedly making great strides in rehabbing his injury, but is determined not to risk his 2014 schedule by rushing back to competition too soon. The six-time tour winner is on schedule for his title defense at the AT&T National Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February.
Tiger’s tourney, which offers world ranking points, is slated for Dec. 5-8 at the course in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
