World Golf Rankings 2013: Henrik Stenson jumps Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods still on top

Tiger Woods is still atop the 2013 World Golf Rankings despite not participating in the WGC-HSBC Champions tournament this past weekend. Further down, Henrik Stenson jumped Phil Mickelson ... somehow.

Tiger Woods caused a bit of a stir when didn’t go out for the 2013 WGC-HSBC Champions tournament this past weekend, but his absence didn’t hurt his place atop the 2013 World Golf Rankings at all. Woods remains No. 1 by a significant margin, followed by Adam Scott.

Henrik Stenson jumped into the No. 3 spot over Phil Mickelson this week, in what was the only change inside the top 10. Stenson actually finished well below Mickelson at the Champions tournament. He shot 6-under over four days to finish 31st while Mickelson shot 12-under to come in 14th. By some mathematical magic, Stenson’s performance was apparently good enough to move up the rankings, however.

Dustin Johnson won the tournament by shooting 24-under over four days, and received a sizable boost in the rankings as a result. He checks in at No. 12 this week after ranking 23rd heading into Shanghai.

Here’s a look at the top 10, courtesy of World Golf Rankings:
