After the first round of the 2013 Arnold Palmer Invitational, Justin Rose leads the field at 7-under par after shooting a 65 on Thursday.

Rose leads the field at the 2013 Arnold Palmer Invitational at seven-under par after the first round.


Rose went on a stretch on the front nine in which he birdied holes four through seven. He shot a bogie on hole 11, birdied 13, had an eagle on 16, birdied 17 and rounded out the day with a par on 18. His performance lands him at least two strokes ahead of the rest of the top 10.
John Huh is alone in second with a score of 5-under par after shooting a 67 on Thursday while both John Rollins and Brad Fritsch are tied in third place at four under par. There are several players tied for fifth at three under par, including Tiger Woods, who shot a 69 on the front nine. Woods birdied holes four, five and six before he bogied on seven. Woods then birdied on 12, had an eagle on 16 but finished the day on a sour note by shooting bogies on both 17 and 18.
Tied with Woods are Charley Hoffman, Ryo Ishikawa, Nick Watney, Sean O’hair, Thorbjorn Olesen, Bill Haas, Jimmy Walker, Gonzalo Fdez-Castano and Ben Kholes.
The winner of the Arnold Palmer Invitational will take home $1.08 million and 500 FedEx Cup points. The total purse for the event is $6.2 million.
