Most sport fans have been fixed to their televisions to watch the NCAA March Madness basketball tournament. Golf fans were forced to turn their attention to the hardwood since Mother Nature decided to rain out the Arnold Palmer Invitational Sunday afternoon. Looks like we’ll all have to wait other day for Tiger Woods to win his third tournament of the season.

In case you were spending your weekend watching one of the most exciting March Madness tournaments in years, here’s what you missed in professional golf.

Tiger’s totally going to win and this isn’t a jinx at all -- I’m the kiss of death when it comes to jinxing golf tournaments. Before the start of the 2013 season, I predicted this would be Tiger’s most successful of his career. Thanks to two wins already this year, however, Tiger has made me sound more like a psychic than a quack.
Tiger’s three-shot lead at Bay Hill is about as close to a sure win as you could expect in professional golf. Granted, nothing is guaranteed in pro sports when you’re talking about most athletes. Then again, we’re talking about Tiger Woods leading a tournament after 54 holes.
Plus, he’s happily dating again. If you don’t think that has something to do with his success, then I don’t know what to tell you.
Aphibarnrat wins shortened Malaysian Open -- In another weather-shortened tournament -- this time on the European Tour -- Kiradech Aphibarnrat shot a 2-under 70 to beat Eduardo ‘The Other’ Molinari at the Malaysian Open for his first pro win. The tournament was shortened to 54-holes due to multiple rain interruptions. Sunday’s round was even delayed two hours due to heavy rains in the morning. It is becoming obvious that Mother Nature hates golf.
Pro golfers are living dangerously -- Is it just me or are golfers taking riskier shots nowadays? As was noted earlier yesterday, Sergio Garcia climbed a damn tree to hit a shot with one hand. How was this decision smarter than taking an unplayable lie penalty and finishing the hole?
Playing a golf shot from a tree, lake or other questionable surface never works out well for the player. Right?
Oh. Nevermind.
