Tiger Woods has tied a record for the most tournament wins at one event, taking his eighth win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, earning over $1.1 million in the process.
Arnold Palmer Invitational 2013 purse: Tiger Woods takes $1.1 million in eighth Bay Hill win
Tiger Woods will be the No. 1 golfer in the world after a win at Bay Hill, his eighth at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He takes $1.1 million after holding off Rickie Fowler in the last round.

It’s Woods’ second win in a row at Bay Hill, his second win in as many events, his sixth victory in 20 events, and it puts him on top of the 2013 money list. That’s not so bad for a golfer many thought was well past his prime.
Woods was given chase by Rickie Fowler for the majority of the tournament, but the youngster had an awful time on the 16th hole, hitting a pair of approach shots into a river protecting the green, finishing with a triple bogey and knocking him from second to fifth on the leaderboard.
With 77 career wins, he’s now just five away from Sam Snead’s all-time record. Snead had also held the record for most wins at one event, winning in Greensboro eight times, but that record was accomplished at several different courses.
