World Golf Rankings 2013: Tiger is the new No. 1

The last time Tiger was No. 1 was Oct. 30, 2010.

Tiger Woods is back on top.

It’s been 29 months, but Woods is once again the No. 1 golfer in the world. His win Monday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill -- his record eighth victory at the event -- put him back in front of Rory McIlroy. Woods shot a 2-under 70 in the final round to win the tournament and secure the top spot.

McIlroy, who was ranked No. 1 last week, dropped to the No. 2 spot. Justin Rose, Luke Donald and Brandt Snedeker round out the top five. The top five shifted outside of the top two as well, with Rose moving from the No. 5 spot last week to No. 3 this week.

The win was Woods’ third of the season. The three victories have pushed him back to the top of the World Golf Rankings for the first time since Oct. 30, 2010.

Woods will try to extend his grasp on the No. 1 ranking at the Masters starting April 11.
