You guys, the Masters is only a couple weeks away. Big-time players on the PGA Tour look to be on top of their games, while seemingly-average players are also peaking just before Augusta. What more could a golf fan ask for? In the meantime, let’s take a closer look on some PGA tidbits from this week.
Bunker Rake: Players gearing up for Augusta
In case you were too busy watching the Final Four this weekend, here’s what you may have missed in professional golf.

D.A. Points? More Like D.A. Putts! -- Not only did Points sink a clutch putt on the final hole of a weather-lengthened Shell Houston Open to win, but he did so in basically pitch blackness. Due to heavy rains sweeping through Texas late Sunday afternoon, play didn’t start again until 6:30pm EST. That meant players had little less than an hour to play four holes.
Points’s victory also earned him a bid to The Masters in two weeks. While his victory in Houston is sweet in itself, we can be quite sure Points is more excited about playing in the year’s first major.
Germany’s Marcel Siem wins in Morocco -- Siem shot a 2-under 70 in his final round to win the Hassan II Trophy. I’m not completely sure what that trophy is, but I’m about 60% certain it doesn’t refer to a spaceship or something. Regardless, Siem was the wire-to-wire winner, impressing many fans and fellow competitors with a bit of a hot streak Siem now has three European Tour victories, including the French Open earlier in the year, which should prepare him for Augusta.
