The Masters leaderboard: Marc Leishman moves into the lead

Despite a slow start, Marc Leishman has surged into the lead at the 2013 Masters.

The top of the Masters leaderboard is starting to get crowded with big names, but Marc Leishman is currently leading the way. Leishman is 6-under through 16 holes, good enough for a one-stroke lead.

Leishman opened his round with a bogey at No. 1 and was even-par through seven holes. Since that point, however, Leishman has gone on a run with six birdies in his last nine holes. He surged into the lead with four-straight birdies at No. 13, No. 14, No. 15 and No. 16. While Leishman is the leader on the course, David Lynn is the leader in the clubhouse. Lynn shot an opening round 68 to post 4-under.

The leaderboard becomes crowded after the top two with three players tied for third place at 3-under. That group is full of notable names with Jim Furyk, Justin Rose and K.J. Choi tied for third. Tiger Woods is also lurking in the top 10 as he’s currently tied for sixth at 2-under. Woods started slowly with five pars to open his round, but added two birdies on the front nine. He heads to Amen Corner with a chance to make up some ground on the leaders.

There are a number of other notable names on the top half of the leaderboard including Adam Scott at 1-under and Charl Schwartzel at even-par. Defending Masters champion Bubba Watson bogeyed three of his first seven holes and is 2-over through 11 holes. Phil Mickelson is one hole into his opening round and he opened with a par at No. 1

Tianlang Guan, the youngest player in Masters history at 14, is also even-par thus far. Guan bogeyed his first hole of the day, but got back to even par with a birdie on No. 3. Here is a look at the current leaders as well as some notable names.
