We’re now deep into Friday afternoon at the 2013 Masters, and the play of noted golf enthusiast Tiger Woods has taken place in near obscurity. As chronicled on Wednesday, Augusta National maintains their antiquated stance of providing limited television coverage. They have opened up coverage to several livestreams in recent years, but those too have their restrictions.

Augusta continues its troll of Tiger fans with no livestream coverage of the No. 1 player in the world prior to the TV broadcast on ESPN.
Tiger Woods, who played almost his entire round before the start of the 3 p.m. ET broadcast on Thursday, did not have his pairing selected for one of the “Featured Groups” live streams in the first round. The reasoning Augusta National Chairman Billy Payne provided was that a player could only be selected for the featured groups on one of the first two days, and Tiger was set for Friday.
Tiger Woods is now out on the course, and he is not in one of the featured groups livestreams. Unfortunately, it appears ANGC will not have Tiger in a featured group livestream until the TV broadcast is already on the air on ESPN at 3 p.m. Those featured group streams are currently occupied by the Sergio Garcia-Angel Cabrera-Adam Scott and Dustin Johnson-Branden Grace-Fred Couples groups, who should have at least an hour still on the course.
Tiger will continue to play the front nine in obscurity until TV comes on the air (probably his first five holes). At least we will get more of his round Friday, but it’s insane that the most popular player in the world in the biggest tournament of the year has played so much untelevised golf through the first two days.
