After a solid first day, Tiger Woods’ second round is underway as he attempts to remain in contention heading into the weekend. Woods is even through his first three holes and remains 2-under for the tournament.

Tiger Woods is back on the course at Augusta National as he tries to gain ground on the leaders. Woods is even-par through his first three holes on Friday.
Woods, who struggled with his approach shots early on Thursday, had similar issues right off the bat on Friday. His approach into the par-4 first hole ran off the back of the green. He was able to get up-and-down to save par on what has been the toughest Augusta National hole for Woods throughout his career.
The par-5 second hole provided Woods a solid birdie opportunity, but for the second straight round, Woods was unable to capitalize. After his approach went over the green, Woods’ chip came up well short of the green, taking a birdie out of play and leaving him a difficult par save which he was able to convert.
Woods hit his first green in regulation on No. 3, but a lengthy birdie putt was well off. He made the par putt to remain even-par for the day. With the course playing as difficult as it is, three straight pars is a solid start. The leaders, including Dustin Johnson, have run into some issues. Jim Furyk and Marc Leishman are currently tied for the lead at 5-under, leaving Woods three-strokes back.
