Tiger Woods was on his way to sole possession of the Masters lead, but a flagstick got in the way. After rebounding, Woods is 4-under overall through 16 holes, good enough for fourth place.

Tiger Woods caught an unlucky break at No. 15, but is still in contention one-stroke behind the leaders.
After missing a birdie opportunity at No. 13, Woods found some trouble off the tee at the par-3 14th. His tee shot sailed well over the green, giving him a tricky lie to attempt to get up-and-down. Aiming well to the right of the pin, Woods flipped up a chip which rode the break of the green and funneled toward the hole. He was able to complete the par save by nailing the five-foot par putt.
Woods chose to layup on the par-5 15th hole and appeared to hit a perfect approach shot into the green. The ball, however, hit the flagstick and spun back into the water hazard. Had the ball missed the stick, Woods may have threatened an eagle and would have been set up for a short birdie try.
He took a drop from the original spot and drilled his second approach shot to within five feet of the pin. He converted the bogey -- his first of the day -- dropping to 4-under overall and into a tie for fourth place.
Woods ran into more trouble on No. 16 as his tee shot landed in a green-side bunker. His short game has come through multiple times in the first two rounds and once again, Woods was able to complete the up-and-down to save par. Without much green to work with, Woods’ ball shot past the hole, but checked up and rolled back toward the pin. He sunk the six-foot put to stay at 4-under.
He will finish his second round with holes No. 17 and No. 18 where he went par-par on Thursday.
